USA Martial Arts
At USA Martial Arts, Karate and Taekwondo are combined in to a single program of study. The Taekwondo influence comes from both the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) and the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). While the Karate influence comes from the Japanese Karate-do Ryobu-kai style. Students learn traditional forms (kata/poomse/hyung) from ITF, WTF and Karate. Both arts stress strong kicking and punching techniques, with Tae Kwon Do training putting more emphasis on kicking and Karate putting more emphasis on hand techniques.
The Chong Shin Kwan style of Tae Kwon Do Karate, as designed by Hanshi Roger Jarrett, puts equal importance in both arts. The Chong Shin Tae Kwon Do Karate Association governs and regulates the Chong Shin Kwan Style of Tae Kwon Do Karate as taught within the USA Martial Arts Federation.
At USA Martial Arts the ancient art of Kobudo is a primary part of the teachings of the Chong Shin Kwan Karate/TaeKwonDo program. Some of the weapons include the Sai, Kama, Nunchaku, Bo and Tonfa. USA Martial Arts is a member of the World Kobudo Federation.
